Dear Ms Dowell,

I would just like to drop you a note stating my opposition to any possible sale of WUEV.

As a graduate (BS Electrical Engineering 1991) and as a long time member of the UE community (my father was head of Personnel and, later, Risk Management for the university from 1965-1985), I feel that an independent university owned station is in the best interests of both the community and the university.

Long before I attended the university I can remember listening to the programming on WUEV. It was music and programming that I do not believe a commercial radio station could provide. Which is why I think its mission is so critical. Without it myself---as well as countless other I'm sure---would have never been introduced to classical jazz, modern jazz or even rap. I didn't always enjoy what was on the playlist, but at least WUEV is an outlet for all musical tastes and allowed me to develop my musical tastes with a wide range of choices. Again, something that is not feasible with a commercial radio station.

By the possible sale of WUEV, I am afraid that a voice in the community will be silenced. One that has provided enjoyment and enlightenment over the years to many, many people.

Thank you!
