After watching the news segment on WFIE, I feel it would be a great injustice to not only the students, but to the Evansville community to sell WUEV. The passion that these students have about keeping the station should alone be enough to make the decision. Don't let the almighty dollar ruin a good thing. It was stated in the newscast that the station has no academic ties, or something to that effect, but if one looks at the big picture, I feel you'll find that statement, or sentiment is untrue. This is something that gives the students on the job training and prepares them for the real world. How much more do you want it to tie into academics? This opens an entirely whole new world for them. Keep giving future students this same experience....don't rob them of something so significant. As one who has lived most of his life in Evansville, I find WUEV a refreshing change from those stations that are bought and sold on a daily basis. -Greg Brasseur |
