Just posting this email message from this afternoon for anyone who didn't get it: Dear Friends of WUEV: You have heard the news that WUEV will not be sold by the University of Evansville. Your opinions, suggestions and input were helpful as the administration of the University considered a sizeable financial offer from an outside source. I was impressed with the enthusiasm and energy that was displayed by so many of WUEV supporters. As a result, I would like to see the following happen: 1. The creation of “The Friends of WUEV”. This will be a new organization whose function will be to provide financial support to the station. The support will be provided through annual gifts, donations and pledges restricted for the use and operation of WUEV. 2. Creation of a student support group for WUEV. This will be an organization of UE students who wish to be involved on volunteer basis with WUEV to provide help and assistance in programming and other areas to make the station stronger and enhanced. If you are willing to become a member of this group or would like to attend an organizational meeting after spring break, contact Marcia Dowell at md23@evansville.edu 3. Dramatically expand the solicitation of local businesses for underwriting opportunities on WUEV. We will give the local business community an opportunity to have their business promoted on the air waves. 4.
