| Running Away Again From the Media Again! (Weekend Scoop) 13 Feb 06:59 EST |
Fox 7 attempted to talk with the Board of Trustees on campus this weekend on Saturday, angered Director of University Relations Marcia Dowell that they would even show up to get comment on the week's hottest story. Marcia promised to find a Trustee for interview when Fox returned. When Fox returned as promised at the set time, no one was around, Marcia, the Trustees and everyone had left! Why would U.E. not want the Trustees (who are the licensees of WUEV) to comment on this important issue? Wouldn't U.E. be glad to allow this access to the media? Thank you Fox 7 for running a short brief on this on Saturday evening!

One would think that publicity=more donations. Angering the media, which is what reaches and influences the public will most likely not help raise money.
Someone needs to go and take another public relations class. Obviously they need a refresher.

It's possible none of the trusties wanted to comment on the issue. However, no matter what the reason, Marcia Dowell should have shown up at the designated time and explained that none of the trusties were available for comment. Failing to do so is a bit of a PR blunder on her part.

This is getting ridiculous. I say we draft a letter asking that Dowell, Crowley, Barner and Jennings submit their resignations.

I think that removing WUEV from University Relation's control would solve a lot of problems.
