no reallly!!! a letter writing campaign once they close the deal CAN actually snuff it.
If the sale goes through the adminstration, that's only the first step. They have to run announcements on-the air asking for public comment to the FCC.
It's there that people on the ground in Evansville be able to mobilize a letter writing campaign to the FCC.
No one writes letters anymore, so it doesn't take that many to throw up a red flag.

I was under the impression that DJ were NOT allowed to say anything ON AIR regarding the sale so that the community could respond.

anytime a sale of a station is sent to the fcc for approval, the station has to run all these legal disclaimers about public comment to the fcc...

After you posted I was wondering if the FCC had to approve the sale. That is really, really good information to know. I honestly had no idea.
